Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?
Sky Island Falconry Experience holds our programs at various locations. For the specific location of the experience you are interested in please review the experience descriptions closely or contact us. Specific directions and address are provided at booking.

Do I really get to handle a bird of prey?
Yes! We have a special USFWS Falconry School Permit that allows non-licensed participants to handle our falconry school birds. There are falconry schools all over the world, most of them utilize the ubiquitous Harris’s Hawk but Sky Island Falconry Experience is one of the only Falconry Schools where you’re able to handle and fly this special bird in it’s native Sonoran habitat.

May I bring my dog?
Dogs are not allowed at Sky Island Falconry Experiences. Most hawks, falcons and owls view dogs as predators and would be frightened by their presence. If you require the assistance of a service dog please contact us, we may be able to provide a special showing to accommodate. (Only ADA defined service animals are eligible; ESA and Therapy dogs do not qualify.)

What should I bring for the experience?
Our experiences are held outside and therefore subject to weather. Dress for an outside experience and please avoid any items with fur or feathered trim! Our birds are hunters after all! Water and sunscreen are a good idea especially for the Hawk Walks. And don’t forget to bring your camera.

Do you offer refunds?
If you have booked an experience and need to cancel, we are happy to offer you a gift certificate for your refund. This Gift Certificate will be fully transferable.
